Day 151

In honor of our military for Memorial Day I'm showing a picture of John. He thinks it was taken between 1988 and 1990. He served almost 22 years in the Air Force.

The Twins were born. I think they were born a few days back and since momma was sitting on them I didn't know. They are pretty big already.

Day 150

Daniel has been wanting a new amp. Here's how it all started. Mom can I borrow the money from you and I will pay you back. Sure Daniel I haven't been paid back since before preschool....lol Then it was mom since BD and Graduation is coming up maybe you could buy that for me for my present. True I needed a Grad present for him. His Dad and I split it for graduation and here he is at Guitar Center trying his new one out before we take it home. Might as well be a present because the odds of ever getting paid back is slim...You know what I mean??? He got it early because they were having a sale. That's ok he deserves it.

Day 149

Every since I moved into John's house I've been telling him one of the bedrooms must not have any insulation. In the winter this room is always freezing and really hot in the summer. Well he decided to check it out. Low and behold we had no insulation in the attic and sides for this room. Not surprising since one of our neighbors riped a hole in one of his walls and they had no insulation. Of course all warranties are gone now. So they rented a machine to blow insulation in the attic today. Let's see how it goes this summer.

Day 148

This has always cracked me up. This is a fake tree (I think pine tree) used to disguise cell phone towers. We have them all around town so they blend in and not suppose to look like cell towers.

Day 147

When Tim moved back in with us in January we disconnected our wireless router for the internet. I felt he needed to get on track with school and the trust issue first. He only has one more class to finish for high school and has helped around the house a lot. I call him my landscaper and pool boy. lol Doesn't argue with John about doing anything. I told him tonight we would put the wireless back on and he is a happy camper and already playing the games online. Oh well.....

Day 146

I was hungry for some California rolls. Never tried the brown rice ones before but they were good. John doesn't like to eat these so I do it on my own.

Momma dove is still sitting on her eggs. Should be any day now that they hatch and we will hear chirping.

Day 143

GD (Charlee) and DIL (Sandra) came up from Bullhead today to visit and have dinner. Sandra works so much that Charlee made her turn her cell phone off today and come spend the day in Vegas. Mom works a lot of hours.

Day 142

Vacuum cleaner bit the dust. Went and bought a new one today. Things seem to be needing replaced a lot lately.

Day 141

I won a contest on the Papercraft Mags blog and this is what I got in the mail today. The paper is from Crate Paper and the stamps are from Unity Stamps that has 24stamps in the set. They have some cute images on them. The circle punch is from Fiskars and I have never used the circle ones before. Always wanted to try them but never bought one. Keep putting comments on blogs and answer questions. It works.

Day 140

Tonight was Daniel's last guitar performance for High School. It was Seniors' choice. He received two awards. One was for Trio Ensemble and Best Jazz. The sunglasses is a joke they have for the Trio. They are the three amigos. The graduating seniors had one of the art students do a canvas of all the guitar majors graduating this year for the Teacher Mr. Swick. Each kid signed his name. It was pretty cool looking.

Day 139

Out running around again today. Found myself crossing over the strip which I hardly ever go near as it's too busy. Looked around and so amazed by the new hotels here. These are the Aria and the Vdara. That section of the strip is like a city in its own. The other picture is the plaza that has The Liberace Museum. I've lived in Vegas 46 years and it's unbelievable the way this town has grown.

Day 138

Went to the mall today which I hardly ever do anymore. Since I was in the area stopped at Dick Blick art supplies to get some lightweight board that I use for my mini albums. They only had 3 sheets. This cuts nice on my "E".

Day 137

John washed and waxed our toy hauler yesterday. He left for work and I don't have the heart to tell him the clouds are rolling in. The jasmine plants on the garage wall are all blooming and it smells so good in our backyard.

Day 136

This bird's nest has been in one of our trees for a couple of years. Not to be confused with the Hummingbird nest. Went out today and a dove has laid two eggs. She had left the nest so we took a picture. She has been sitting on it all day. I'm going to keep watching so hopefully I will hear some little chirps.

Day 135

Prom night for Trish and Daniel. John and I got to Town Square early so I could check out some good backgrounds for the pictures. Well the bus arrived late with the kids so we only had a few minutes to get pictures. The last picture is of the bridge I wanted them to pose at but didn't have time. I need to get better at photoshop so I could paste them on the bridge....lol

Day 134

I won this Limited Edition of Glimmer Mist from Laura at The Paper Trail. Was watching her class last week and I was a winner. Can't wait to try it. Thanks Laura.

Day 133

My home phone went to a fast busy since yesterday. I had Cox Comm out this am to check the line. After they tested everything it all pointed to the TIVO. So next call "TIVO". I was on the phone to them several times one lasting about 45 minutes while they had me unplug, plug and replug, power off, power on things to verify the problem. They told me to unplug the telephone jacks to Tivo and call back in about ½ hr. which I did but the guy that helped me never made a notation on the repair ticket so they didn't know who he was or had done. Well patients running thin on my end... Since they only give you first names they didn't know who I talked to....ughhhh....Bottom line they are sending me a new TIVO box which they should since buying the HD box I have had nothing but problems. My old TIVO I had for 6 years and never had any problems. I could give up a lot of electronic things but please don't take my TIVO.

Day 132

Met Daniel at the tuxedo place to get a shirt, tie and vest for the prom Saturday. He already has a tux because of school but we changed out the shirt, tie and vest to match his girlfriends dress. When he told me her dress was orange I was like OK. He brought it to match up and it is cute. I can't wait to see them dressed. I'm taking pictures at Town Square before they go to dinner.

Day 131

John and Daniel for Mother's Day both gave me candy. John stopped at the candy store in Beatty and let me tell you that bark dark chocolate with nuts is so good. I told him not to spend that much on candy again but after I tasted it I may have to take that back. And I love my sour patch kids.

Day 130

Tonight the school had a meeting for the parents that seniors are graduating this year. It's a good thing I went since my Daniel never gets paperwork home or ever remembers to tell anyone what's going on. When I was listening to the lady about the ceremony I was already in the process of tearing up. Graduation Day is not going to be pretty.

Day 129

Daniel took me to breakfast. Well sort of... John bought breakfast and filled his car with gas. lol... That's ok just spending time with him is great. Before we left a friend of mine knocked at the door that moved to Idaho 7 years ago. She was visiting her family. We went over to her sisters after we had dinner so we could visit. This picture is of her and her husband and two kids (Lexie & Tiffany) they adopted. I was a foster parent back then and had the baby on the right (Tiffany) after she was born for a couple of weeks before Brenda could take her home. Then they adopted her and her sister. These girls couldn't have gotten better parents.

Day 128

Not much happening today. Worked on a scrapbook project and watched the Michael Jackson movie "This is it." I really like this movie but it is rather sad.

Day 127

Today was the first day in about a month that the wind hasn't been blowing. The flag across the street was hardly moving. We have had a lot of wind and I mean strong wind so far this year. So that meant today was the first day of swimming for the season. Pool was 82°. Tim went down the slide to try it out and then John joined him. Not me I like it to be at least 85°.....

Day 126

Tonight was the Senior Guitar Recital for the Graduating Senior Guitar Majors. Daniel was getting ready to sing and play "Neon" by John Mayer. I had to hurry and take a picture (that's why the two people are in it with him) because I had to video tape it. I was trying to juggle two cameras at once. Not working well. The other picture is of his Trio Diesel (Brendon), Adrian and Daniel. They played Mango Tango by Jurg Kindle. What a great performance tonight. It's amazing to see how they have progressed in the last 4 years. Only one more concert before he graduates. :(

Day 125

My GD Charlee sent me a couple of Mother's Day cards with pictures. I love to get pictures. She always writes all over the cards. I think it is so cute. If you double click on picture you can see it better.

Day 124

I had to run over to Walmart to get some mini dv tapes for my camcorder for Daniel's concert this week and you won't believe what happened. I was walking down the isle and this bag jumped into my hands. What choice did I have but to take it home. Right?

Day 123

Bridget and I were off to another California (Fontana) adventure. We went to visit our friend Leticia. She just recently moved in her new house. Of course we had to hit a couple of scrapbook stores. Then went to lunch and had some good ole girl therapy for almost 4 hours. We never have any problem with conversation. We went up and back in one day so it was a rather long day but great fun....Next time when we have more time we are going to stay the night and have a slumber party. Thank you Leticia for making us the beautiful mini albums.

We finally watched this movie. I don't know if it was a hit at the movies but not here. Not sure what the message was.....
