Day 304

Ok I'm on another cleaning spree. This time I'm working on the drawers. It's unbelievable how much I had stuffed in these drawers and hadn't seen in years. Majority too small so out they go.

Daniel noticed that our glasses are exactly the same. I didn't even notice. You would think since I wear them I could see.

I ordered some paper flowers from IAMRoses in Thailand. You get a lot of flowers cheaper then buying like Prima, etc. It's more in a bulk type place. I was amazed that everything arrived since it had to go through customs and the box was only closed with the red and white string which was very loose. Arlene at ButterFly Kisses recommended this place on her blog.

Day 301

John came home today and a coworkers wife made them food. He brought the leftovers home and I must say they were good. The ribs are Korean Beef short ribs marinated in soy sauce, ginger, onions, sesame seed oil and seeds. We had enough for three of us to eat. They look burnt in the picture but they aren't.

This is an unusual scene at my house when John is gone. Decided to go grocery shopping by myself. I'm going to be nice this weekend and cook. Well, I'm going to try:)

I have been looking at the Internet for a good Cranberry Pumpkin bread recipe. Well I hit it with this one. It was so good. John liked it and took the whole loaf to work and I froze one. Good thing or I would of ate the whole thing while he was gone.

John and I drove down to the Ontario Expo for the day. I waited to the last minute to decide if I was going and he said he didn't mind. While at the Expo I called my friend Leticia (who lives in Fontana) to see if she had gone. She said she went Friday but her and her husband came down to walk around with me again. After we left we went to Wootens then to dinner and then her house to look at all her projects. I love doing show and tell with scrapbooking. This picture was actually taken at Wooten's. I was looking for a TH product and couldn't find it at the Expo and Wooten's had it. Yeah........

I hadn't been using a glue gun in along time. I have rediscovered it for scrapbooking. Been using it a lot lately.

We had one heck of a lighting and rain storm pass through. I told John we need a drain to make this water coming off the house to flow in the pool. He's going to work on that. Not that it rains here that much.

Since I'm now hooked on the pomegranate ones I had to get a bag of the blueberry. I need to see if they are as good.... :)

This is my new sidekick for the next 48 hours. I had a procedure today to place a capsule in my esophagus to get ph levels to see if this can detect what is going on. I have this beeper like thing that I have to keep within 5 feet of me to register the ph. I do a chart for each time I eat and when I sleep. Luckily I don't have to have another procedure to remove the capsule it will in a few days fall off the wall of the esophagus and pass through. Lovely...lol

Ok I told John I was really hard up for a POTD. He said take one of these wooden pumpkins. I said no that's stupid. Well here they are....lol

Went to Red Lobster so we could celebrate my BD with Daniel. We ate so much shrimp I thought I was going to explode. He gave me the most beautiful card with a gift certificate for Red Lobster. I told him for my BD to fill his car up with gas and that would make me happy. He said if he didn't buy a gift card I wouldn't let him pay for our meal. He's such a sweetheart.

Day 288

I have had this sign since Daniel was a little guy. It has held up pretty well consider it is in the elements and made out of wood. Miss the little guy days.

We planted another pomegranate tree this year and it is no bigger than a minute. It managed to grow one pomegranate though.

I watched this off and on since the rescue started. It's simply amazing what has been done with rescuing these guys. Every time I saw one step out of the capsule I was so happy for them and their families. I can't even imaging being underground for one minute let alone 69 days. Tears of joy.

For my BD today John make reservations to stay at the cabins in Mtn. Charleston. I have stayed in the lower lodge but not in these cabins. They were so cute and country. Had the gas fireplace and a jacuzzi in each room. We had the best cabin as it was in the front over looking the canyon with nothing in the way. All it needed to do was snow.

I was walking around and John said there's something on your shorts. When I got closer he said no they are on inside out. Wow...I even had my glasses on.

Bridget took me to the movies to see "Social Network" for my BD. I really liked it and amazed how young and rich this kid is that started Facebook. She made this album for me and I can't say enough about how much I love it. This style is totally me. Thanks Bridget I treasure stuff that is made for me. If you want to see the whole album stop by my scrapping blog. Sorry about the pic of us. We had the movie attendant take the pics and they didn't turn out to good. He tried.

Day 279

Met Daniel for lunch in between classes today. We went across the street from UNLV to Cafe Rio. (of course) After we finished he took me on a tour of the campus. It's been a long time since I was on the UNLV campus. So with camera in hand I got some pics of my kid at college. I couldn't believe how many kids he knew from LVA. One of his LVA classmates is living at the dorm even though her family lives in town she wanted the experience of living on campus. She rode by on her bike and said "Daniel is that your mom? Daniel said yes and she said "How cute." lol

Finished my 2 page 6x6 layout for a Christmas swap. We each did 8 pages front and back. Done with swaps till after the New Year. Need to get busy with Christmas albums.

We have been having cloudy weather for several days. Which is rare for us. The temps have cooled down and I'm so ready for fall.

Tried a new recipe today. It was chicken with Lemon Potatoes. Actually it was quite good. You had to flip the chicken over 4 times while it was cooking so it made it more moist then normal. I even made John some oatmeal cookies. His lucky day.

This house (museum) belongs to a former neurosurgeon in L.V. by the name of Lonnie Hammergren. He also was Lt. Governor at one time. He purchased three houses that were side by side and attached them to make one. He collects signs, props and tons of LV landmarks. This is a view from the back of his house. He only opens it for tours on certain days of the year. Yes the neighbors opposed it for many years but as you can see he won. I'm glad he's not my neighbor.

My Skippy cracks me up when her and Zeus walk around the curbing of the grass. You would think the grass would be more comfortable to walk on.
